Autowarehouses
for material storage

Salmoiraghi has a long experience in implementation of Autowarehouses (both the self-supporting and classic building-housed types) located in highly seismic and/or severe climate areas. Our design methods reflect this experience and fully meet the stringent FEM and CE standards. The Autowarehouses for high-density storage of various types of Load Units (pallets, totes, trays, containers, staple fibre bales, fabric rolls, etc.) feature modular storage towers, innovative material handling systems, high-performance Stacker Cranes, advanced control and supervision software, and efficient network interconnection features for creating the “Virtual Warehouse” in the company headquarters. The configuration of the auxiliary infeed and outfeed equipment and relevant internal transport systems is based on accurate analysis of the Load Unit flows performed during system design.

The Salmoiraghi organisation is able to manage the entire Autowarehouse implementation process, all the way from floor slab preparation to commissioning and handover of the fully operational system.

FOR FABRIC ROLLS

Automated warehouses for fabric rolls are a Salmoiraghi specialty covered by numerous patents. They are essentially based on the possibility to directly transfer single rolls. They differ in warehouses featuring direct store-in/store-out of the roll from the storage location, suitable for products with their own rigidity/consistency, and others using carrier tray-based handling, for very delicate or inconsistent products.

Single roll handling allows composition of complex orders and automatic inventory management.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Fast Stacker Cranes with special workheads for picking and selective handling of the single roll, either directly or on carrier tray
  • “On the fly” identification, diameter check and weight check of the moving roll
  • Use of advanced RFID technology for tracking rolls in key positions
  • Fully computerised WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Integration of the warehouse system with the production and shipping lines, ensuring complete product tracking

DISTRIBUTION CENTER

A logistic Distribution Centre is an automated warehouse for intensive storage and distribution of semi-finished and finished products coming from various sources. The palletisation/depalletisation, picking and order composition processes are largely automated.

These powerful logistic centres are designed and implemented for meeting the demanding “just-in-time” requirements of the modern Supply Chain by optimising the complex range of operations required for storing of products received from various company-owned manufacturing plants or external vendors, and subsequently distributing them to company internal production lines or external customers.
