Cookie Policy
Italian legislation (art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/03 “Code regarding the protection of personal data”*) has introduced into its legislation a European Directive which requires managers of websites that use cookies or other monitoring technologies to inform the user about the presence and types of cookies used by a particular site.
With this document, pursuant to articles. 13 and 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (“privacy code”), as well as in accordance with the provisions of the General Provision of the Privacy Guarantor of 8 May 2014, the salgroup.it website, through this page, provides users with site some information relating to the cookies used.
Â
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file generated on the user’s computer when he accesses a particular site, with the purpose of storing and transporting information. Cookies are sent by a web server (which is the computer on which the visited website is running) to the user’s browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, etc.) and stored on the user’s computer last; they are then re-sent to the website at the time of subsequent visits.
Thanks to cookies, a website remembers some user actions and preferences (for example login, type of language, font size, display settings) so that it is not necessary to re-enter them every time you return to the site or while navigate between one page and another of it.
By disabling cookies, some services may not work as expected and some pages, or parts of them, may not be displayed correctly.
Â
Types of cookies
Provision no. 229 of 8 May 2014, published in the Official Gazette. n. 126 of 3 June 2014 distinguished cookies into two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
Â
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
This type of cookie is strictly necessary for the correct functioning of some parts of a website.
They are mainly divided into two categories:
Â
of session:
they are stored on the user’s computer for technical functional needs necessary to allow safe and efficient navigation of a particular site. They are automatically deleted when you close the browser and do not constitute any risk to the user’s privacy during the session.
persistent: once the browser is closed they are not destroyed but remain stored in the hard disk of the device in use until a preset expiry date, unless deleted by the user at any time. These cookies allow a site to remember the device from which the user logged in and recognize it at each subsequent visit. This makes it easier for visitors to navigate, but they can set their browsers to block any type of cookie in advance or to be warned of their presence and decide from time to time whether to accept or reject them.
Â
Analytical cookies
Similar to technical cookies are analytical cookies, used “to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself”.
Â
Functionality cookies
Functionality cookies “allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided”.
The prior consent of users is not required for the installation of technical cookies.
Â
Profiling cookies
As reported on the website of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data (www.garanteprivacy.it/web/guest/home/docweb/-/docweb-display/docweb/3118884), profiling cookies “are aimed at creating profiles relating to the the user and are used for the purpose of sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the net. Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices can have in the private sphere of users, European legislation and Italian law provides that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent.
The art refers to them. 122 of the Code where it provides that the storage of information in the terminal device of a contractor or user or access to information already archived are permitted only on condition that the contractor or user has expressed their consent after having been informed with the simplified methods referred to in Article 13,

Â

The salgroup.it website, according to current legislation, is not required to ask for consent for technical cookies.
In any case, for all other types of cookies, consent can be expressed by the user with one or more of the following methods:
Through the setting of the navigation browser (as illustrated in the paragraph below “disabling cookies”) or of some computer programs used to navigate the pages that make up the site.
By changing settings when using third-party services.
Both of these solutions could prevent the user from using or viewing parts of the salgroup.it site.
