Salmoiraghi was the first to implement these highly efficient solutions and, thanks to its long experience in this field, is able to offer customized and highly reliable solutions.
Salmoiraghi overhead transport and intermediate storage systems eliminate the problems caused by the presence of traditional pin carts in the spinning room which cause damage to the product, handling errors and considerable occupation of the available space. The system guarantees absolute traceability of the product, right from its origin (the winder).
The transport routes may connect distant areas and different building floors through the use of rail switches and elevators.

AGV-LGV VEHICLES
Already during the nineties, Salmoiraghi started using AGVs (battery-powered Automatically Guided Vehicles) for various material handling applications.
Initially, these vehicles were a combination of market-sourced AGV platforms supplied by third parties, integrated with on-board equipment developed by Salmoiraghi for specific applications.
Today Salmoiraghi designs and manufactures in-house a complete range of AGVs employing various types of guidance systems (inductive, laser, inertial and hybrid) and various on-board devices (forks and motorised conveyors, grippers, bobbin-doffing modules, etc.) for handling different kinds of Load Units (pallets, boxes, drums, bobbin-storage racks, containers, vehicle chassis assemblies, etc.).
Salmoiraghi is able to offer an AGV system for any automated handling requirement.

CONVEYORS
Air transport systems
Automated handling systems must also meet the requirement to move at ground level the various products, packed in boxes or on pallets. Salmoiraghi designs and manufactures a complete series of roller or chain conveyor systems, also equipped with ground transport cars, for final moving of the products, after the packing process, to the storage or shipment locations. These lines are often equipped with intermediate stations for Load Unit checking, weighing, labelling, wrapping, strapping or application of other load protection systems.
